Vaccinations
Protecting your pet by vaccinating is an important step towards your pet living a long and healthy life. Some of the diseases that we vaccinate against if contracted without this protection can be deadly, while others may cause lifelong health issues.

Why vaccinating your dog is so important...

Dogs are naturally very inquisitive and they communicate through smell, meaning they are very susceptible to infectious diseases.

You can protect your dog from these types of diseases that could make them very ill or sadly even kill them by having them vaccinated. The types of diseases you can protect your dog from are leptospirosis, parvovirus, distemper, and hepatitis. Your dog normally should start their vaccine course at 8 weeks old, then continue to have a vaccine annually. Don’t panic if you have an adult dog with no vaccines, we can start the vaccine course at any age, just bring them along to our clinic.

Why vaccinating your cat is so important...

Cats love to wander whether if its just in the garden or beyond, this puts them at risk of infectious diseases. These diseases can make cats very unwell or in some cases be fatal. Vaccinating your cat helps reduce these risks and keeps your cat safe from these diseases: feline enteritis, cat flu and feline leukaemia (FeLV). Kittens should start their vaccination course around 9 weeks old, but an adult cat can start the vaccine course at any age. Then adult cats should continue to have a booster annually so they are protected from these diseases.
